Genie Celebrates 65 and Family Christmas Party

Every family celebration is unique based on the culture and occasion and we love to be witnesses of this diversity whatever challenges we may face catering them. This event was our last for the year 2019 and it was a very touching and intimate family Christmas eve celebration and our client’s mother’s birthday.

I arrived at the venue at more than 1 hour earlier to start setting up and I am glad we did. It was a windy afternoon and the party was held in a backyard which made it challenging to steady the backdrop stand. It is a good thing I was able to borrow some strings to tie the stand into the gazebo and some heavy bricks to use a weight.

After the backdrop was secured (at least the stand was not falling over again), the rest of the photo booth was ready just in time for the arrival of the guests and the start of the party. One thing I loved about this family is that they are so warm and welcoming. The celebrant and the women were always offering to get me food and drinks. She told me not to be shy and that I am treated as one of her guests. The men, on the other hand, have always asked me to get a drink. I loved to have some beer but I would be driving home so I just had juice, prawns and smoked salmon.

The guests were stoked to have a photo booth in the backyard and everyone loved posing in the camera. Young, old, men, women, kids and even a dog stood in the booth and had their photos taken with instant prints. Some of them were posted on a window where some family pictures were already hanging.

The event went on with cute performances from a little girl and Bad Santa style of exchange gifts. One guy had a drone at the beginning of the game but ended up having a 50-dollar gift card for Bunnings. That was so hilarious!

Our time to pack things up as they were preparing for the dinner and the actual Christmas eve feast. The celebrant has asked me to have dinner before going home but I refused because of our own celebration waiting at home. The photos from this session were so great! Too bad, the client has requested not share them on social media but we are asking permission at the moment to share some of our captures.

We hope to serve on more events like this where we can capture the smiles, laughter, and quirkiness of the guests in our booth. As we continue to improve our service, update our props, and upgrade our equipment, follow our social media accounts so that you can journey with us every turn at the Roundabooth!

Happy New Year 2020!
